There would be no better highlight after shopping or during a shopping break.

Now is a great time to shop in Bangor, Maine. With all the rain we've had and the sluggish economy, many stores are offering deals and clearing inventory. One of my favorite stores for great deals is Marden's Surplus and Salvage in Brewer, Maine. They recently have been offering great deals on flooring and clothing and are worth a look. Another to check out is Metropolitan Soul in downtown Bangor. They have a nice unique selection of home decor, jewelry, and clothing, and you'll enjoy the experience.

Bangor stores offer many choices for people seeking products and entertainment. Besides the mall and downtown, people often forget that there are many strip malls and hidden business scattered throughout the city. TJ Max offers a nice variety of clothes and unique furniture in the Broadway shopping center. Marden's Surplus and Salvage in Brewer, Maine is another nice place to go to get rare items or bargains on common products. Brewer is just across the bridge.
You may also want to check out the Airport Mall over near the airport on Union St. It offers some interesting stores and bargains that you might not find in the other areas. Bangor shopping certainly has its choices.

Angeli Perrow is a children's author living in Hampden, Maine.
Though she lives in Eastern Maine, her
